I've been busy with some small projects lately, including painting a desk for my sewing room that I told you that I finally cleaned out. The desk is one that I've had in my garage forever, and used to use as a workbench sort of thing in our last house. Our current garage has a built in bench. And we need a desk downstairs. I'll show pictures once I get it done. (okay, here's a really bad teaser photo. It's a slate gray/blue color)
I also redid a lamp and the numbers on the front of our house (which were rusting). Just a good old coat of primer and paint.
Lastly, yesterday I got the best thing in the mail ever. My Mother-in-law Jane saw my little posting about how I was swooning over some of the clothes there and sent me a belated birthday present of a gift card. I have never been so surprised or excited about a gift card ever! It made my month, and I quickly went online and spent it on some great stuff. (This was the best timing because I have no clothes for work besides the old maternity tshirts that I've been wearing). The best part is that there was an online coupon I found that if you spent a certain amount you get 15% off your entire order, plus free shipping. I was 67 cents or something short of that amount. So I found a pair of $5 earrings on the site. Those earrings ended up saving me something like 18 bucks. So they pretty much paid me to take those earrings and a shirt off of their hands. I love that. :) Thanks again Jane for the wonderful surprise. (Below are a pair of pants I was able to get. I've never ordered pants online because I'm always nervous they won't fit or look right. But I made John help me measure everything, so hopefully it will work out! I thought they looked cute and were on super sale!)
Oh...and I might have gotten this scarf too. It was too cheerful not to swoon over. And only ten bucks (to me, those are walmart prices!) I'll only show you those two things. I don't want to bore you with my entire shopping cart of stuff. But if you see me looking abnormally stylish, you can thank my Mother-in-law. :) Also, just for you Jane, I finally got round to taking these pictures. They are the posters that John's Aunt Toni collected with the word "savage" on them. We used them in our basement. This is one of many, in a thrift store frame painted black.

Cute clothes! How nice of Jane. That sure was kind of her :o) Desk is looking good to. Can't wait to see the end result!
I hate it that I can't edit my posts....why is it that I see my mistakes after I hit 'publish your comment'? That was suppose to be 'too' up above!
